The Guardians, the Council of Saturn, and the Rhythm of Being

The Guardians, the Council of Saturn, and the Rhythm of Being

Since mid-September I’ve been sitting with a question the Ra contact raises and mostly leaves unasked: what kind of being is a Logos, and what are its arrangements for? Don Elkins stayed largely with what I’d call the outer teaching of the Law of One. This post reaches toward the inner teaching — intuition congruent with Ra’s logic, even where Ra doesn’t state it outright. As I go I keep three things apart: what Ra says, what follows closely from it, and what I propose. Much of what follows is the third kind, and I’ll mark it.

Starting Point: The Patterns of Third-Density Life Are Everywhere

Whitehead held that understanding the world (or God) need not be wild speculation. If only we have the eyes to see, the intricacies of our own lives already show us how reality works — for him, the elucidation of immediate experience is the sole justification for any thought. That is my starting point.

Ra says the choice made in third density is the axis upon which the creation turns (76.16, 78.21). So I look closely at the archetypes and patterns of third-density life. Some of them look specific to our density. I’d argue they are ubiquitous — the same patterns sounding at every order of magnitude.

Take parents. Ra says newer entities are given guides of a physical mind/body/spirit complex, and when asked who these guides are, they answer: “what you call parents, teachers, and friends” (18.8–18.9). The parent teaches by open-hearted beingness and total acceptance of the child, tempered by some discipline, since the child learns its biases from the parental other-self (42.20). And Ra themselves extend the pattern beyond our density. We are “the parents of that which is in the womb” — the Earth now being born into fourth density — and throughout the creation there are “parents aiding their planets in evolution,” a process that occurs “many, many times” (65.17).

If that is so, why wouldn’t the same hold at the order of magnitude of a Solar Logos, or a Galactic Logos? Seen this way, I find three levels of intelligence at work in our solar system:

  • the Solar Logos, learning upon its own order of magnitude;
  • the Council of Saturn, which oversees the growth of the densities within the solar Logoic body;
  • the intelligences (ourselves among them) evolving through those densities.

I should add that, in that same answer, Ra says our relationship to the Logos “is not the relationship of parent to child but of Creator (that is Logos) to Creator (that is the mind/body/spirit complex as Logos).” I take that seriously, and it is why I place the parenting with the Council rather than with the Logos itself.

The Rhythm of Being

Before the Council and the Guardians, the ground they stand on. In my own work I call it teleopotentiation. As far as I can see, the Law of Three — affirming, denying, reconciling — is the rhythm of being. It is the very flow even the Creator is subject to, and it grows more complex as the octave of experience unfolds.

I draw the pattern as a Law of Three Diagram (L3D). An affirming force and a denying force meet in tension. The tension resolves one of two ways: a status quo that relieves the pressure without changing anything, so the same tension loops back at greater length, or a higher-grade resolution that honors both forces and becomes the affirming force of the next turn. Beneath every L3D runs the same ground: the Creator’s constant desire to know the self, more, and better. Two of these diagrams appear below.

Think of the involuntary muscles and organs of the body. They do their work without deliberation, and the conscious person is freed to live, choose and learn on top of them. The rhythm of being works the same way. Ra puts it in terms of a clock: the energy that formed “the tiny realm of the creation governed by your Council of Saturn” creates “a rhythm which is as inevitable as one of your timepieces.” Intelligent energy “offers a type of clock,” and the gateway to intelligent infinity opens “regardless of circumstance on the striking of the hour” (9.4).

This is the intelligent energy at the headwaters of each cosmogenesis. The Council of Saturn does not control it. The Guardians do not produce it; it is the Creator’s own outflow of love. What the Guardians do, as I read Ra, is filter it with intelligence — “precise emissions of light/love” (51.1) — to help this octave of experience unfold.

The Council of Saturn

What Ra gives us is spare but precise. The Council resides in the octave, or eighth dimension, of Saturn, in the rings (6.8). Its members are “representatives from the Confederation and from those vibratory levels of your inner planes bearing responsibility for your third density” (7.9). They have no names; names are offered only when we request them, and not all have chosen one.

Why the rings? I take the rings themselves to be incidental. The Council’s place is in time/space, and the rings are simply where that place shows up in our space. Still, notice what converges there. The rings lie in Saturn’s equatorial plane, where the planet’s spin, its equatorial bulge and its magnetic field all agree — Saturn’s magnetic axis lines up with its spin axis to within a few thousandths of a degree, closer than any other planet we’ve measured. And inside the B ring runs the line where the ring material and the magnetic field turn at the same rate. Read as a toroidal field, that equatorial plane is where the circulation meets itself and exchanges, the same structural position the King’s Chamber holds in my model of the Great Pyramid. The nine whose distortions blend “harmoniously” sit, in our terms, in the one region of the field built for meeting. That reading is mine; Ra places the Council in the rings and says no more.

Saturn drawn as a toroidal field: golden field lines loop from pole to pole around the planet, the rings turn in the equatorial plane, and the Great Pyramid is superimposed with its King's Chamber level on the ring plane.
Saturn as a toroidal field. The planet’s own field loops from pole to pole, the rings turn in the equatorial plane, and the Great Pyramid is superimposed with its King’s Chamber level on the ring plane.

The Session Council of nine sits in constant session, its members “varying … by means of balancing” that takes place irregularly. It works by telepathic contact with the unity of the nine, “the distortions blending harmoniously so that the Law of One prevails with ease.” Its duties are admitting social memory complexes to the Confederation, advising on aid consonant with the call and the Law, and settling its own internal questions. When in doubt, it turns to twenty-four entities who back it, offer their services as requested, “faithfully watch and have been called the Guardians,” and give consensus judgment (7.9). The nine themselves sit as those representing the One Creator, “just as there may be nine witnesses in a courtroom testifying for one defendant” (39.9).

Its recorded acts are approvals and permissions:

  • allowing other third-density entities into our planet after the second cycle produced no harvest (22.17);
  • approving Ra’s plans, first to walk among us and later the pyramid healing work (23.6);
  • granting the entity along the Amazon a second attempt to correct the distortions (23.16);
  • approving the placement of the message-givers (60.25);
  • approving the incarnational plans of wanderers (70.15).

Notice what is missing. The timing of the cycles belongs to intelligent energy’s rhythm (9.4). Ra calls our solar system the realm “governed” by the Council, yet the Council’s governing works by permission and judgment, inside a clock it does not hold.

My proposal: for our Solar Logos, the Council of Saturn serves as the parents. Every Logos that grows, at any order of magnitude, grows among intelligences already carrying incarnational wisdom, who frame its growth and provide the right environment. In other words, tending the densities is tending the Logos, since our lived experience is how the Logos comes to know itself. I suspect star systems generally have such a council.

How the Solar Logos Grows

Why would a Logos need parents at all? Ra’s account leaves no room for a Logos climbing the densities as we do (41.7). Its growth, as I see it, is a journey toward itself within us — down and in.

Ra says the original desire is that entities seek and become one (20.27). I read that desire as running in three directions: within a density (a self joining another into a couple or a family), across densities wherever love is invested and grows both parties, and across orders of magnitude. The last is the Solar Logos becoming one with itself at our order. Whitehead’s word for the way many become one is concrescence, so I speak of a kind of vertical concrescence.

To say how that journey works, I need two words from my own work: Alphaic and Omegaic. In my book I describe them as a developmental partnership between template-providers and experience-generators. The Alphaic side provides the template and the structure — the plan, the pattern, what is given. The Omegaic side generates experience — what is lived, chosen and learned, pressing beyond mere repetition. Every order of magnitude has both, and each level is Alphaic toward the levels it holds and Omegaic toward the level that holds it.

Here’s an image that helps me. The Omegaic self is the pail. It carries water up from the well of lived experience, under the veil. The Alphaic self is the reservoir. The water is emptied there, held and distilled. Both learn, each in a way appropriate to its own order of magnitude, and growth happens where the two move toward each other: the reservoir reaching down, the pail climbing up. Ra speaks of the yearning between the Creator and the incarnate being, “one for the other, in love and light” (39.6). Our own higher self is such a reservoir, filled by the lives we actually live (36.1).

A reservoir labeled Alphaic above and a pail of water labeled Omegaic below; a blue stream reaches down from the reservoir and a gold arrow rises from the pail, meeting in a golden glow labeled Growth.
The pail and the reservoir. For each of us, the reservoir is the higher self; one order of magnitude up, it is the Solar Logos, and we are its pails.

Now carry the image up one order of magnitude. Ra calls our sun a sub-Logos (29.1) and each of us a sub-sub-Logos (92.13) — a Logos in miniature, exercising the same creative principle at our own scale. The Solar Logos is the reservoir, and we are its pails. Its plan is held in potential completion, like an acorn that is already an oak in principle. That is what I mean when I call the Logos Alpha-potential, Omega-kinetic: the plan rests in the reservoir as potential, and it becomes kinetic, set in motion, only as the pails bring up the water of lived experience — through the bodies and choices of its sub-sub-Logoi. Third density, the density of the veil and the choice, is where reservoir and pail meet.

Yahweh as the Solar Logos: a slowly turning golden sphere holding the solar system with Earth at its heart, gold spirals flowing down and in toward Earth.
Down and In: Yahweh, the Solar Logos, holds the heliosphere as its body. Its journey of development runs down and in, toward Earth at its heart, where the sub-sub-Logoi make their choices under the veil.

The Guardians in Ra’s Words

At 51.1 Ra names “those of three levels watching over harvest”:

  1. The planetary, and “that which may be called angelic.” Ra calls this “type of guardian” the higher self of an entity and the inner-plane entities attracted to it through its seeking.
  2. The Confederation, Ra among them — “the second class of those who ward this process.” They stand “in the small places at the edge of the steps of light/love” and catch those who stumble, so that no one falls away “for any reason other than the strength of the light.”
  3. “That group you call the Guardians,” from the octave above Ra’s own, who serve as light-bringers, providing precise emissions of light/love so that each entity’s exact vibration may be ascertained.

The supervision of light is an honor/duty given to those of the next octave (54.10), and Ra admits knowing very little across the octave boundary (52.12).

The quarantine adds a second picture. Ra describes its windows as “an other-self phenomenon from the Guardians,” operating from the area of intelligent energy. “No entities have the clock. Therefore, it seems random. It is not random in the dimension which produces this balance” (16.5). The balancing allows “an equal amount of positive and negative influx,” weighed against the distortions of our social complex, so that each of us has an equal opportunity to choose (16.6–16.7). And penetration follows the calling: when positive information comes through, those desiring negatively oriented information “must then be satisfied by those moving through by the window effect” (24.8).

What the Guardians Guard

I take “guardian” to name an office held at several levels, each guarding something different:

WhoWhat they guard
The higher self, the angelic, and attracted inner-plane entities (51.1, first level)The individual’s harvesting process
The Confederation, Ra among them (51.1, second level)The steps of light/love themselves — guardrails so no one stumbles for any reason other than the strength of the light
The quarantine GuardiansThe quarantine, safeguarding Earth’s balancing needs in its harvest at large
The Guardians from the octave above, the twenty-four (51.1, third level; 7.9)The delicate cosmic balance of the heliosphere, and at this moment Earth

Ra never takes the title “Guardian.” They do ward, and they affirm their role as gardeners: “the gardener who, knowing the season, is content to wait for the spring” (20.28).

My proposals about the twenty-four. I read the twenty-four of 7.9 and the Light-Bringers of 51.1 as one group seen from two sides — function in the first passage, constitution in the second. Ra never joins them; this is convergence. I also see these Guardians as the four percent of Confederation members whose identity Ra declines to give (16.32). Ra appends that four percent with a simple “plus” and no mechanism. Twenty-four among roughly five hundred planetary complexes lands near that figure, and Ra withholds identity in both places, which looks to me like one policy. And I don’t read the twenty-four as angelic.

What, then, do the twenty-four guard? The delicate cosmic balance, whose algorithm changes moment by moment with every free-will choice made — infinitely complex. They guard the balancing needs of the heliosphere, and at this moment Earth. The quarantine intelligence measures Earth’s calling for positive and negative information and balances accordingly (16.6, 24.8).

Law of Three Diagram: The Balance the Guardians Keep.
L3D: The Balance the Guardians Keep. Sealing the quarantine would look like protection, yet the choice would no longer be free; the window effect keeps the influx in balance with the calling (16.5–16.7, 24.8).

The quarantine Guardians further that mission, operating in consequence of the twenty-four’s balancing. A quarantine Guardian may detect an approaching Orion entity, intuitively or through technology, and experience the finding as chance or diligent looking. The detection itself may be the balancing system, issued and maintained by the twenty-four, at work. No entity comes through the quarantine apart from that balance. The quarantine Guardians may or may not know that they are the embodied white blood cells, as it were, of the heliosphere.

Yahweh, Held as a Hypothesis

First, a word on Significator. Ra teaches the archetypal mind through twenty-two images, and the fifth, the Hierophant, is the Significator of the Mind complex (80.0). When Don guessed it was a governor or sorter of effects, Ra answered that those characteristics bear upon it but are not the heart: “The heart of the mind complex is that dynamic entity which absorbs, seeks, and attempts to learn” (79.37). As Significator it “has the will to know, but what shall it do with its knowledge, and for what reasons does it seek?” (79.42). I see the Significator of Mind as the agentic self — the one who makes meaning of the catalyst arising in each moment. Ra points us there when asked how to seek the heart of self: “the material for your understanding is the self” (15.14). My proposal carries that agentic self up one order of magnitude, to the Solar Logos.

This is the piece I hold most loosely. My hypothesis is that Yahweh is of the twenty-four, of the Light-Bringer kind, and at the same time the Significator of our Solar Logos — its Alphaic persona, the reservoir — acquiring a personality through involvement with its own members, the Martian souls first. One being in two positions.

That would explain something Ra describes and never quite accounts for: why a Guardian became so personally invested in a population (18.20–18.21, 24.6). Those souls live within its own body. I read the response of the other Guardians, “from the viewpoint of other Guardians” (9.9), as a safeguard of free will rather than a reprimand. From the cosmogenic view there are no mistakes, only surprises.

Ra discloses names and withholds identities, so the text can neither confirm nor refute this. It has to earn its place by what it explains. What it points toward is the Christ Event as the Logos entering third density from the inside.

Yahweh at the center of a sphere, joined by lines to 23 Guardians spaced evenly on its surface.
The Twenty-Four: Yahweh at the center as one of the twenty-four, with the other twenty-three spaced as evenly as a sphere allows.

Where This Leaves Me

What emerges is a heliosphere held in layers of care. The rhythm of being sounds through everything, the Creator’s own outflow of love keeping time. The Council of Saturn tends the densities as parents tend a child, and in doing so tends the Logos. The Guardians filter the light and keep the balance, and the quarantine Guardians do their part, perhaps without knowing whose larger work they serve. We, in the veil, make the choices that give the whole its living experience.

These are where my thoughts have settled for now. I’m offering these thoughts for what they are worth, and I hold the Yahweh piece most loosely of all. If you’ve been sitting with the same passages, I’d be glad to hear where they have taken you.
