The Black WHole Now

Poem by Doug Scott

The Now is weird.

Its constant, unrelenting, urgent presence

a black hole–hidden and pulling

at the center of our this and that

inspires the greatest fear–and greatest

joy!

Its Hawking Radiation caresses the body in rhythm

the way you know how the mouth of a passionate lover

hovers

between inhale

and exhale

before pulling in for the kill.

 “Here–Now.”

“Come back–Now.”

“Underneath That–Now.”

“Wake up–Now.”

“Reconcile–Now.”

“Freedom–Now.”

“Sacred–Now.”

“W(h)ole–Now.”

“Surrender–Now.”

“Allow–Now.”

“Look Deeply–Now.”

“Embrace–Now.”

“See It–Now.”

“Know It–Now.”

“Accept It–Now.”

“Forgive It–Now.”

“Balance–Now.”

“Open–Now.”

“Love–Now.”

“Die–Now.”

“Arise–Now.”

“Void–Now.”

“Fullness–Now.”

“Darkness-Now.”

“In-Light-In–Now.”

“Welcome back–Now”

“I Love You–Now.”

“I Love–Now.”

“I–Now.”

”        –Now.”
