This is taken from a question/response exchange between a reader of my article: Were Some of Jesus’ Words Orion Influenced?
The questioner was asking about the Law of Responsibility and polarization mentioned in the Law of One.
The Law of Responsibility is mentioned several times in the Law of One material (sessions 22.5, 60.16, and 101.8). It may not be a very difficult cosmic law to understand (I don’t think…) if we compare it to our own lives.
Take a teenager, for example. We would expect a 16 year old to be more responsible and to engage in the world commensurate with their psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual development when compared, say, to a 5 year old? Likely, yes.
On the other hand, we wouldn’t expect that 16 year old to be as responsible as a 30 year old. However, do you know some 30 year olds who still act like 16 year olds? Stuck in their lives and ways of thinking? I do.
In our society, we sometimes call young adults who never leave their parents’ house, who don’t have jobs nor are motivated to look for one, etc, “failure to launch.” Sure, things can vary a bit depending on cultures, but by and large, there is a pattern of ever increasing responsibility and civic participation that we expect as people age.
“To whom much is given, much is expected…”, Luke 12:48.
Just so for the Law of Responsibility, except this cosmic Law weighs in at a level of lifetimes instead of just one lifetime. Polarity is the thrust of our evolution once the choice in third density is made (for which polarity is chosen) and is the measuring stick that is used to ascertain the readiness of a person to live in 4th density love/light.
Polarizing requires us to use catalysts somewhat efficiently and for the positive person, it falls within the ideas of loving the Creator with all we have and are, and loving and serving our “other selves” because we realize at the heart-centered level that they are us and we are them. Serving others is to serve The Self, since there is only One of us here (God).
The Law of Responsibility is like a crazy complicated algorithm that takes into account karma balances/imbalances of a person within this lifetime and in all of the lifetimes, pre-incarnational biases and choices put into place by the self and one’s guides/Higher Self, the level of polarity accrued over lifetimes, and the quality and quantity of catalysts that are used efficiently (or not used).
In our Earth’s humanity, for many people, there seems to be a kind of cosmic logjam that emerged several thousand years ago and continues even now.
That is, people weren’t using catalysts well, and while they may have been positive at their core (chosen the positive path), they continued to think and act in bellicose ways. And since our collective thoughtforms have created a somewhat negative orientation overall (16.6, 22.5), our bellicose ways of thinking and living are affirmed as correct and right from a societal/cultural level. In other words, we don’t know that we are participating in a negative schema (ref 83.12). In fact, we don’t much at all because third density is not the density of understanding (16.39), even subjectively (61.9).
So karma gets all out of balance, the span of a lifetime decreases, few are able to learn much or polarize more because death comes too early (ref 42.12)…. etc.
It’s a problem for sure and both Ra and Jesus say similar things in that the sinkhole of indifference [read: lukewarm] lies between the few who will polarize positive or negative to fourth density (17.33 and Revelations 3:16).
